According to Albert Einstein, education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned. This is a very reasonable and accurate principle that helped me understand what education truly is. Recently, I happened to have a discussion with Teacher Aileen about her teaching strategy. This talk enlightened me a lot and helped me relate education with Einstein’s definition of it. She shared with me that the most important thing is to ensure that a child remembers whatever they have learned specifically focussing on the foundations of each subject. Each student must know and understand (and not merely memorize) the process so that however a question is presented, every child will know how to navigate and solve around it. Her focus is on the child’s cognitive processes especially in critical thinking. I am amazed because indeed, a student can easily forget a concept or a lesson, but they will not forget how their mind works. When a child learns the cognitive process and discipline around a problem, they will always know how to solve it. With this principle imbibed in St. Victoria Montessori School, Inc., I believe no child will grow forgetful or kabisote.
TumugonBurahinTeacher Aileen also shared with me how she prepares a method of learning that is specific to a child’s understanding. Children can be of the same age, but have different cognitive thinking. They have different talents and ways of learning and as a teacher, she ensures that a child is given the opportunity to learn in the best way that they understand things. By doing this, she ensures that each child maximises their potential regardless of the speed of the other students in class. It allows each child to grow at their own pacing without compromising what they can learn.
There are a lot more things that details why St. Victoria Montessori School, Inc. is the best in building the foundations of education for a child, but you can know it best once you enrol your child. Learn from the fun experience and interactive ways of this school!
